Artistas Invitados Otoño 2019


 Raúl Tamez ( Visiting Dates: Septiembre 30- Octubre 2)

En 2017, se hizo acreedor a una luna del auditorio por la creación del Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea de la Ciudad de México, FIDCDMX. Premio Nacional de Danza Guillermo Arriaga 2016. Es sociólogo por la UNAM y cuenta con una maestría en danza en la John Moores Liverpool University, realizada con la beca FINBA-CONACYT. Licenciado en danza contemporánea por la ENDCC y la Rotterdam Dance Academy, Holanda. Ha bailado en países como China, Canadá, Holanda, Lituania, Letonia y España. En compañías como IT Dansa, Two Move Dance Company, Aura Dance Theater y el Ballet de Cámara de Riga, Letonia. Ha interpretado repertorio de coreógrafos como Jiry Kilyan, Sidi Larbi, Alexander Eckman, Rafael Bonachela, Nacho Duato y Ohad Naharin. En México bailó en el CEPRODAC y con coreógrafos como Tania Pérez Salas, Alicia Sánchez, Óscar Ruvalcaba y Jaime Camarena. Ha obtenido diversos premios, reconocimientos y becas de perfeccionamiento técnico. Ha realizado más de 10 obras que se han presentado en los principales teatros del país, así como en países como Suecia, Cuba, España y Holanda. Es fundador y director del Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea de la Ciudad de México y director del grupo independiente, Pálido Teatro.

Jordan Fuchs (Visiting dates: September 23rd-27th)
Jordan Fuchs is a dance artist whose choreography is grounded in improvisational practice, specifically the bias towards disorientation, sensation and process of contact improvisation, a movement form he has been practicing for more than 25 years. In addition to his choreography for stage, he also creates work for video screens, museums and outdoor spaces. His choreography has been hailed as “magical” by Jennifer Dunning of the New York Times and presented at numerous venues across the US and internationally. His videodance projects utilize disorientation as a strategy for making accessible the embodied experience of dancing and have been presented nationally and internationally. A Professor of Dance at Texas Woman’s University, Fuchs is the founder of the Texas Dance Improvisation Festival and a former Fulbright Specialist. He has taught workshops across the US and internationally in Europe, Asia and Australia. A former Dance Specialist in the Jerome Robbins Moving Image Archive of the Dance Division of the New York Public Library, he holds a BA in Religion from Oberlin College and an MFA in Choreography from Ohio State University where he was awarded a University Fellowship.

Paulina Colmenares (Visiting dates: October 7th-11th )
Paulina Colmenares is a Mexican artist, choreographer and dancemaker borned and raised in the city of Oaxaca. She holds a B.F.A in Dance from Universidad de las Americas Puebla. Paulina is currently a Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance Making and Performance third year candidate at the University of California San Diego, working with Eric Geiger, Liam Clancy and Yolande Snaith as a maker, a researcher and an instructional assistant for contemporary dance technique classes through a somatic and experimental approach. Her movement background and education includes Oaxaca Folkloric Dance, Bartenieff Fundamentals, a Professional Training at the Jose Limon Institute of New York, American Dance Festival, Impulstanz, Doug Varone and Dancers Intensives, Movement Research, as well as an ongoing and commited Hatha Vinyasa Yoga practice. She has shared her choreographic work throughout many different independent and institutional venues and international dance festivals in Mexico and San Diego, California. Her work has been comissioned several times by the State Council of Culture in the City of Puebla (PECDA), and she is currently a recipient of the FINBA/CONACYT National Fellowship for international graduate studies in fine arts. Her ongoing creative research focuses on the possible interactions between contemporary dance making and notions of performance, movement improvisational practices, the poetic narrative of Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector and Contemplative Traditions; particularly Dzogchen Buddhism. Her work is informed by her interest in non representational modalities of dance as well as a continuous reflection on the epistemic and spiritual nature of the creative act is a Mexican artist, choreographer and dancemaker borned and raised in the city of Oaxaca. Nómada Proyecto Escénico (Visiting dates: October 14th-18th)

Nómada Proyecto Escénico es un colectivo de artes escénicas multidisciplinarias que nace en la Ciudad de México en el 2018. El colectivo ha participado en distintos festivales y premios tales como el 4o Premio Homoescénico al Movimiento Original, la 2a edición de In:contra/Encuentro de Coreógrafos No Legítimos y la 5a edición del festival FESARTES; así como en espacios alternativos dentro del marco de las Noches de Museos de la Ciudad de México, Museo de la Cancillería CDMX. Son colaboradores activos de la compañía Skandalisi Dance originaria de Países Bajos con quienes participaron en el Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea de la Ciudad de México. Actualmente se encuentran en desarrollo de propuestas escénicas, fomentando los vínculos internacionales de la danza entre México y el extranjero. La búsqueda individual de los integrantes de Nómada ha derivado en la realización de proyectos que van desde la composición musical colaborativa con compañías de teatro como Yonder Window Theater Company en Nueva York (U.S.A), hasta la colaboración escénica con compañías de danza como 27 / 1 Teatro (Rusia) e Insiemi Irreali (Bélgica).
